The Last Soliloquy

Writing Exercise 11:
The Last Soliloquy

Write a one-page (250-300 words) argument for either cutting or retaining Hamlet’s final soliloquy (4.4.33-67) in a production of Hamlet. This soliloquy frequently gets cut in modern productions of the play. Explain either what makes this particular soliloquy expendable or why you think the play would suffer without it. In either case, give very specific reasons to support your argument.

Give your argument a clear and explicit thesis and support it with specific references to the play.

For this, and all your essays in this class, please use strict MLA format.
